Tips: Preparing For A Christian Marriage

When an adult is prepared to live with someone of the opposite sex as husband/wife. There are basic tools to use in finding such life-partner. Most importantly is the tool of PRAYER. However, you must amongst others do the following:

1.) Desire a life-partner.
Please note that your desire for a life-partner is not a carnal. Proverbs 10:24.

2.) You must make yourself fit to be found. Why? The scriptures talking about the man said in Proverbs 18:22, "whoso findeth a wife, findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the lord". So, this confers a responsibility on every woman to make herself "findable". Therefore the woman must position herself so as to be found by the right man either in church, work-place, school, hospital, www.spousegarden.com , etc. Findable further means having and displaying the right attitude a good man will want in a woman as in Proverbs 31.

- Be trustable
- Do good to all men - Gal. 6:10
- Work willingly with your hands
- Stretch your hand in the helping of the poor / needy.
- Strength, honour & respect for all must be your clothing.
- When you open you mouth on any issue, your words must be for peace, kindness & unity.

3.) Prayer.
You must ask God in Prayer. Very importantly, the business of finding a life-partner is not a sole adventure of any man or woman. You need help from God in this journey so that the journey will be easy for you in meeting the right person.

Again, Jesus though highly anointed said in John 5:30 - "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge and my judgment is just ....." again he said "A man can receive nothing except it be given him from above". Psalms 75:6 says "Promotion cometh not from the east nor from the west nor from the south....".

The subject of prayer can not be over-emphasized. James 1:8, Matt. 7:7-9, I John 5:14, Luke 11:9-10. When you pray, remember to ask God for signs that will reveal your husband. Note that physical appearance is irrelevant - we mean whether tall, short, fat, thin, etc.

4.) Apply a deep-sleep concept:
Adam was asleep with confidence when God made Eve for him. Isaac was meditating when God provided Rebecca for him. Please note that there's no need for anxiety, worry but with confidence in God through Jesus Christ your prayer shall be answered by him.

Is he or she in Christ? II Cor. 5:17,
Does he or she love God?
Does he or she have the fear of the Lord?
About the woman - Does she have a teachable spirit?

When you find your fiancé(e), please note the following though its not an exhaustible list of things to note when planning for your wedding:

Wisdom is profitable to direct in all things.

Plan your wedding within available resources is wise. Remember, wedding day is not the end of the marriage union.

A strong warning to intending couples is to avoid borrowing money for their wedding ceremony. The Holy Bible say in Deut. 15:6, Proverbs 22:7 that the borrower is servant to the lender. However, you can avoid crises in your family by avoiding borrowing. Spend quality time together in prayer. Building your home in prayer is laying a strong foundation for the future.
